Noah Lifschey's 25 years scoring film, TV, and animation is influenced both from being the son of a famous classical oboist dad and bathing in music from early Black Sabbath to Herbie Hancock to Radiohead to FKA Twigs, not to mention years spent in a Frank-Zappa-on-crack performance art band and a rock/soul group with the charm of a scuffed wooden bar, whisky-soaked cigars, and bootleg rye.

He's a multi-instrumentalist who leans into live instruments and playing things like his modular synth rig or the plethora of weird instruments in his studio rather than just programming. Directors come to him when the obvious musical choice isn't the right one, and they want something that grows inside the story rather than just being placed on top of it or as wallpaper.

His HMMA-nominated score for the 1928 silent film Fall of the House of Usher turned a live trumpet into something more unrecognizable, and layered it inside an orchestral and analog modular bed to give life to the misty avant-garde look and story. For the animated series Blood Sun Vendetta, set in the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime world, acoustic bandolero-style guitar and lone piano meet tweaked orchestras, dark waves of synths, and detuned choirs to tell the intense story of José. Noah’s score for the silent short Color Me Wicked, which won best score during its festival run, moves through starkly different genres and moods to support the love story of two female serial killers. He scored Ngozi Onwurah's 16-international-award-winning Neighborhood Alert, combining tagelharpa and a small string ensemble, melting them into the texture of a film about racism in an upper-class SoCal neighborhood.

His music has been featured in projects such as Marvel Studios productions including Assembled: Deadpool and Assembled: Wolverine, the Academy Awards, and a Rag & Bone VR project alongside Thom Yorke.

Also a Grammy-nominated producer, Noah's scoring work has earned two HMMA Awards, a Mark Award, and a 2022 HMMA nomination for Best Emerging Film Composer. He is endorsed by Steinberg, Dynaudio Pro, and Tendrils Modular.

Noah holds a degree from Berklee College of Music, magna cum laude.
